Welcome to the website for Chris Martin and TransAtlantic Force. I am a British oarsman and in November 2005 I rowed across the Atlantic Ocean, solo. I took part in the Atlantic Rowing Race 2005 in order to raise money for 2 charities; The Breast Cancer Campaign and The Prostate Cancer Charity. Chris is now available for motivational and after dinner speeches and has already lectured the Royal Navy. Please get in contact via the Contact me page if you're interested in booking Chris for any sort of event.

Chris completed the row after 68 days 15 hours and 19 minutes of wave riding, shark dodging, whale listening, weight loosing, bum hurting, oar breaking rowing. The full account of this challenge is available on the weblog link on the menu bar.

If you'd like to sponsor Chris please go to the sponsor a mile page for details of what to do. You can now sponsor online, click the link on the right.

LATEST NEWS: As a supporter of the Prostate Cancer Charity Chris will be involved this week (Prostate Cancer Awareness week) in raising awareness of Prostate Cancer.

Friends, I have now been back in the country for a little over a month and it's about time to wrap up the Transatlantic Force experience. The past 2 years has been the most wonderfully fulfilling period of my life. I have been through the most terrifying, exhilarating, exhausting, uplifting and satisfying moments I have ever experienced and you were all there backing me up as part of the team. I know that I could not have done what I have without your support, advice, assistance and love.

Thank you everyone who has taken the time to look at this website, read the weblog and get involved in this fantastic journey that I was honoured to be part of. You have made the challenge of rowing across an ocean the most amazing experience imaginable and I only hope that you have enjoyed being part of the team, because everyone who posted on the weblog or who texted or emailed me is held in a very special place in my heart. I love you all more than you will ever know. Of course without the webmaster Steve and accountant Rich, I would be lost at sea. Cheers lads, couldn't have done it without you.

Special thanks must of course go to the sponsors, without who this challenge could never have happened so a huge thanks to Stappard Howes, SailGB.com, Jaimes, Molesey Boat Club, Molesey Amateur Regatta, Dalton Designs, Premier Liferaft Services, Sartech, Gill, The Sports Injury Clinic, LifeSystems, LifeVenture, Free Range Sport Optics, UltraSun, Osmotech and Big Pockets.co.uk. Your generosity has allowed more than 10,000 people follow my progress and news throughout the journey. Thank you also to my Mum, Dad and Brother (Mike) who's love, care and attention have been simply outstanding and I am so proud to be part of such a wonderful family.

Of course the most often asked question now is "What next?". Well, there are several options that have been opened up to me over the past 4 weeks regarding the next step. I am trying to make a decision on what to do next but I think I have to get my life back to form of normality before making hasty decisions regarding the next step. All I can say now is that I have the adventure bug and would like to do something else in the future. I have also started doing after dinner and motivational speeches to tell people about what I have just done and will be launching a new website soon to cover this and all future adventures etc. It will be a few weeks until this site goes live but the address is www.unlimitedadventures.co.uk

Thank you all once again.

Hugs for the ladies and handshakes for the men.

Chris
